Former Penn State football RB Saquon Barkley helps out young Giants fan
Former Penn State football star Saquon Barkley recently helped out a young fan who went viral last week.
Nobody has ever questioned former Penn State football star Saquon Barkley’s character. As a matter of fact, he continues to get praised for his off-field attitude, and he deserves every bit of good karma that may be coming his way as he continues to lead by example for NFL players.
Recently, Barkley and the New York Giants traveled to Arlington, Texas to face the Dallas Cowboys. As Dallas’ home field is quite the site, many visiting fans tend to take the trip to AT&T Stadium to check out the place and cheer for the visiting team.
Therefore, a good chunk of Giants fans were in attendance last week to watch them open up the season. And to no surprise, a lot of the Giants fans in attendance were sporting Saquon Barkley jerseys as he’s risen to stardom going from Happy Valley to the Big Apple.
One young fan, in particular, was outside of the Cowboys’ stadium wearing his No. 26 Saquon Barkley uniform. Despite rooting for the Giants, the 11-year-old was in awe seeing an NFL player live and upfront when Cowboys’ defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence passed by.
Naturally, the young fan approached the Dallas pass rusher to ask for an autograph. Unfortunately, Lawrence didn’t appreciate a young Giants fan looking for his signature. Therefore, Lawrence snubbed the young fan and kept moving. Being that it’s 2019, the whole situation was caught on camera and went viral online rather quickly.
Lawrence snubs a Giants fan
With millions of views and tons of shares, a Giants player was bound to catch the video come across their timelines. According to TMZ Sports, former Penn State star Saquon Barkley saw the video for himself and decided to do something about it to turn the fans frown upside down.
“Sources close to the situation tell us Barkley reached out to the Bautistas this week and invited them to their Nov. 10 game against the Jets in New York,” TMZ wrote. Apparently, the Giants running back will fly the young fan and his family out so they can attend a game. And of course, they will be able to meet the star himself along with some of Barkley’s teammates!
