Penn State football is set to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers for week two of the college football season.

It’s a rivalry week in Happy Valley! For the third week of the 2019 NCAA football season, Penn State football is set to take on their Pennsylvania foes, the Pittsburgh Panthers. This season, the Panthers will have to travel a couple of hours for an early event at Beaver Stadium.

This matchup marks the 100th and potentially final time that the Nittany Lions and the Panthers face off against each other. And judging by the way both programs were talking this week, it sure sounds like Penn State versus Pittsburgh might not happen again for a long time, if ever.

Therefore, that makes Saturday’s week three matchup much more interesting. As if this game needed an incentive. The bitterness started last week as Pittsburgh’s starting center made it clear he wasn’t too fond of the Nittany Lions because of where he’s from and where his friends attend.

That led Pitt’s head coach Pat Narduzzi to ‘shield’ players away from the media this week. And while Penn State players kept it business as usual throughout the week, James Franklin sparked up a bit of a beef as he announced he was changing sideline signals in case Coach Narduzzi received any inside information from former Lions’ safety, John Petrishen.

Well, Pitt’s head coach didn’t take kindly to that and decided to rant about it on Thursday. Now, the rivalry has all of the energy it needs to make this one an exciting battle in Happy Valley. Plan on watching Penn State versus Pittsburgh this week? Here’s everything you need to know!
