5. The Final Results

The last time Pittsburgh beat Penn State was back in 2016. It was a close matchup — a shootout that resulted in a 42-39 victory for the Panthers. Then the other two matchups were significant wins in favor of the Lions. Expect Penn State to make it a three-peat.

Last year, Penn State dominated Pittsburgh with a final score of 51-6. Now, I don’t believe this game will be that lopsided, but we should expect to see the Nittany Lions win with a nice cushion. As I mentioned before, Pitt will struggle to surpass 17 points.

Meanwhile, Penn State will probably hang closer to 40 points over the Panthers. Expect the Nittany Lions to run away with this one with a final score of 38-13 in front of the home crowd. So for betting purposes, with the spread set at -17.5, according to Bovada, our guess would be that Penn State covers. However, the total of 53 will go under.
