Penn State football will take on the Pitt Panthers for Week 3 of the NCAA Football Season.

Well, the time is almost here. The Pittsburgh Panthers are set to come to Happy Valley for what could be the last time in a very long time. Initially, it felt like this matchup between Penn State football, and Pitt would be just another classic rivalry matchup for week three.

As it turns out though, this could be the end of a classic series between two Pennsylvania Universities. Neither, James Franklin or Pat Narduzzi could give a straight answer on how this rivalry would play out moving forward as a four-year deal ends with no future in sight.

Franklin discussed a potential agreement in the future at a neutral site perhaps, while Narduzzi made it clear to his players this will probably be the last time this matchup happens as long as he is alive. In other words, we won’t see the Nittany Lions versus the Panthers for quite some time.

So this weekend, the stakes are high in the matchup as this meeting means a lot to the players, coaches, and fans involved. And over the last week, everybody involved with each program has given this matchup life beyond just another Pennsylvania State blowout. Hopefully, the game lives up to the expectations. So with that — here are five bold (and not so bold) predictions for the Nittany Lions matchup at home against the Panthers on Saturday.
