Sean Clifford, QB

The offense runs through first-time starting quarterback, Sean Clifford. So, it’s kind of hard to not throw him in as a key component for a win this week. In his starting debut, Clifford looked good. But there are still some question marks surrounding his game.

Early on, he was nervous as most young quarterbacks would be. It showed as Clifford was missing throws he would typically make in practice. And he even almost lost the ball in the red zone on the first drive. Clifford was far from flawless, but he definitely showed promise.

He enters into more of a difficult test this time around. The run game stole the show last week, as everybody reached the end zone. Now, it’s time for Clifford to pick the Buffalo secondary apart and show that he can take over the game in the air. With Hamler and Shorter as two of our highlighted offensive players this week, it will be up to Clifford to make them useful.

Plus, we’re interested in seeing Clifford’s wheels in action once again. His production in the ground game was doubted before the season, but last Saturday he displayed some promise in that department. Let’s see if he can keep it consistent.
