KJ Hamler, WR

Last week, KJ Hamler was one of our three shining candidates from the matchup against the Vandals. He was also one of James Franklin’s six picks for players that played at an MVP level in the coach’s eyes. It wasn’t hard to tell, and quite frankly, it wasn’t all that shocking.

Hamler has no issues standing out from the rest of the Nittany Lions’ wideouts. That’s no slight to anybody, as they have some really talented wideouts on board. But Hamler just brings a different kind of skillset and energy to the field, which throws defenses off.

He ended up with over 100 receiving yards last week and a pair of touchdowns. Had he remained in the game for longer, he probably would’ve done more damage. Thankfully, Penn State saved the energy for this week. Hamler is going to have Buffalo’s secondary’s hands full. We’re going to see something that we’ve seen before, and will most likely see all season long by Hamler this week.
