Penn State football is set to host the Buffalo Bulls for a week two matchup. Which five Lions are key to a victory on Saturday?

It’s crazy to think that we’re now already into the second week of the college football season. Thankfully this year, the Penn State football program is headed into week two without a week one thriller against a lesser opponent in the rearview.

Last weekend, Penn State took care of business with ease. They were favored over Idaho by a lot, and they ended up winning by a lot more than initially expected. Week one pretty much became a preseason game for Penn State as most starters were out of the game early in the third quarter.

This week, we could end up seeing similar results. But as we know, nobody should sleep on the opponent in college football. It doesn’t matter how much they are predicted to win by. It’s any given Saturday in the fast-paced NCAA.

Therefore, Penn State will not be taking their week two opponent lightly. Sure, they dominated on the scoreboard last week, but the 72-point win wasn’t flawless. The offense got off to a slow start, and they still struggled a bit on third down, as James Franklin mentioned after the game.

The defensive side of the ball was especially dominant, and there weren’t too many flaws to point out. However, the strength of the opponent made it clear that we were not learning anything we didn’t already know.

While the defense should put up another stellar battle, they will most likely have a bigger task at hand this week. Who will be key to avoiding a trap game against Buffalo? Let’s check in on the five primary contributors who should have a big week for Penn State football.
