Penn State football 4-Star target Theo Johnson schedules visit
Penn State football 4-Star tight end target, Theo Johnson locks in a visit with the Nittany Lions for next month.
The 2019 NCAA season is off to a hot start for Penn State football. On Saturday, they hosted their first matchup of the year in front of roughly 104,000 fans, who were excited to have Nittany Lions football back in action. To reward those fans, Penn State destroyed their opponents from Idaho by 72 points. As ridiculous as that sounds, that’s no exaggeration.
Following the dominant victory against the Vandals, the Nittany Lions landed another recruiting prospect’s verbal commitment on Sunday. This time, it was three-star offensive lineman, Devin Willock. He became the Lions 24th prospect to commit on their quest for 30.
Lately, the Lions have been fortunate with landing multiple prospects — but they hope to gain more as the season rolls on. As they can’t really do much in terms of holding recruiting events anymore until next spring, the Lions will have to be great hosts this season as they bring some top recruits to the program throughout the season.
Recently, Penn State locked in a scheduled visit with one of their most notable prospects. Canadian tight end, Theo Johnson. By now, Happy Valley should be quite familiar with the six-foot-six, 240-pound senior tight end from Canada. As Johnson’s appeared on campus numerous times, dating back to last July, it’s become clear that he’s a top target for the Lions.
On October 19th, Johnson will make a return to Happy Valley as he intends on being in attendance for the white-out game against Michigan. That will be his seventh reported visit in the last year or so. Right now, Penn State has some votes in their favor to land the Canadian star, but Johnson is keeping all of his options open before he makes his decision final.
With nearly 30 schools interested, Johnson’s reportedly high on at least four major programs. Penn State being one. The other three happen to be Michigan, Iowa, and Georgia. Also, he will take an official visit down to Miami in October as well to check out the program. Based off of the frequent visits, it seems like Johnson’s decision may ultimately come down to the Nittany Lions and Iowa.
