Some former Penn State football players have sent out a message to the 2019 Nittany Lions.

In just two days, the Penn State football program will host Idaho at Beaver Stadium for the first set of action in the 2019 NCAA Football Season. After a long summer with on and off practices and non-stop recruiting, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally almost here.

This year, Penn State will be getting a fresh start in their program as they look to move on from their starting quarterback of the last three seasons. Without Trace McSorley, the Lions aren’t guaranteed to play as well as they have in the past.

However, that doesn’t mean they won’t be in good hands. It just simply means that their talent under center is just an unknown factor for their team. Redshirt Sophomore Sean Clifford battled it out with Will Levis over the summer for the starting QB job, and he was announced as the winner with just a little over a week to go before the season-opener.

As we said, McSorley won’t officially be a part of the Nittany Lions in 2019, but he still wanted to make it clear that he’s paying attention. And with that, the Lions legend decided to send a video to offensive coordinator Ricky Rahne wishing the 2019 Lions good luck.

Trace McSorley’s message

“Ball out this year, stay hungry, and prove a lot of people wrong,” McSorley said in his personalized video to Rahne. McSorley wasn’t the only former Lions player sending out a message ahead of the season. Other position coaches received videos and posted them to Twitter as well.
