Former Penn State football linebacker Jason Cabinda recently spoke out about a previous team doctors complaints.

Back in March, the Penn State football program made a change to their medical staff. That’s when the program decided to relieve former Orthopedic Physician, Scott Lynch from his duties in the Happy Valley athletic department. Now, in August, Dr. Lycnh has chosen to file a claim against Penn State football’s head coach, James Franklin.

According to Lynch and his legal team, Franklin played a part in ‘pressuring’ the doctor to clear injured players early to get them back out on the field earlier than desired. In documents obtained by Penn Live, it appears that the former PSU doctor is seeking more than $50,000 in the case.

While Penn State still employs Lynch, his firing in March was related only to the athletics department. Penn State’s athletic department denied the claims in a statement.

“While we reject Dr. Lynch’s claims and will vigorously defend our program and its representatives,” the department wrote. “We remain grateful to him for his five years as director of athletic medicine for Intercollegiate Athletics and for his continued association with Penn State Health.”

Obviously, with the report being fresh and the claims coming in just weeks ago, there isn’t enough information out there to jump to a full-blown conclusion. However, there was a former Penn State linebacker who felt strongly about the news. Current Oakland Raiders linebacker Jason Cabinda decided to tweet out his opinion regarding the subject.

“Lemme go ahead and save ya’ll the time of speculating,” Cabinda wrote. “This is complete and total BS straight up.” Cabinda’s tweet was a quote retweet regarding the initial report that came out from Penn Live’s Matt Miller.

While Cabinda is the latest former player to speak out about the accusation, he isn’t necessarily the first. And considering how quickly this report has spread, we assume he’s likely not going to be the last either. We’ll see if any other former players dish in their two cents soon as more information regarding the case continues to pop up.
