No. 7 Michigan – October 19th, 2019

Another familiar opponent for the Nittany Lions. Following their first ranked matchup of 2019 from the initial polls, they will have to take on the Michigan Wolverines. Now, we know that Michigan is considered to be one of the top teams in the Big Ten — that’s no secret.

It’s also no secret that Penn State has struggled against the Wolverines tremendously last season. If you even spend a minute on Twitter paying attention to anybody discussing a potential Lions versus Wolverines matchup, you’re sure to find a 42-7 joke in there somewhere.

It’s unfortunate, but Penn State won’t shake that ugly defeat until they prove they can do something to Michigan this season. Aside from the 2017 beatdown, the Lions put on Michigan, James Franklin hasn’t had the greatest track record against the Wolverines. Many within Happy Valley are hopeful that he can begin to turn things around in this rivalry for 2019.
