Penn State football 2020 recruiting prospect Mordecai McDaniel officially schedules his commitment date.

The Penn State football program hasn’t received a high quantity of recruiting commitments regarding the 2020 class as of late. However, the last couple of commitments have surely been quality additions. And the additions might not stop as more announcements are coming soon.

Just last week, the Nittany Lions received word that Cocoa, Florida four-star running back Caziah Holmes is headed for Happy Valley next year. Many assumed that’s where he wanted to go, but nobody could be so sure until Holmes officially made the announcement.

Now that he did, the Lions are shifting their focus elsewhere. Despite the 2019 season kicking off soon, they are still going to be looking forward to some other potential commitments this month. Remember, PSU offensive line target Ibrahim Traore is scheduled to decide at the end of August.

Before Traore’s decision, though, the Lions could be hearing from a three-star safety very soon as well. Washington D.C. safety Mordecai McDaniel took to Twitter on Thursday to announce his official commitment date, which is now set to August 21st.

The plan is in place

Unlike previous Penn State targets, the D.C. based safety is more on the unknown side with his commitment. According to 247 Sports, his top three interests seem to be Tennessee, Florida, and Penn State. At this time, though, he hasn’t hinted at any schools enough to make any predictions for his potential landing spot.

Sean Clifford hasn’t won his spot yet. dark. Next

McDaniel visited a total of four schools ranging from the spring until the summer. His first visit was back in April with Notre Dame, followed by a trip to Gainesville for the Gators. Then about two months later, the six-foot-one safety wrapped up his tour with Tennessee and the Lions. Next Wednesday, we’ll find out if McDaniel will be headed to Happy Valley or not.
