On Thursday, Penn State football had four draft picks make their NFL debut in the preseason. How did it go?

They move on so fast. On Thursday, Penn State football was represented well in the NFL. While they had a good chunk of former players making their NFL debut’s in the preseason, four draft picks specifically, got some playing time at the pro level for the first time.

Obviously, we know the most prominent name coming out of Happy Valley this year was quarterback, Trace McSorley. While McSorley wasn’t the first Nittany Lions prospect off the board in the 2019 NFL Draft, he’s perhaps the teams most significant loss this season.

Then, there were three others who stepped on the field in an NFL uniform for the first time as well. Running back Miles Sanders and defensive end Shareef Miller both made their debut’s a few hours away from Penn State with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Meanwhile, Amani Oruwariye was the lone Lion 2019 alumn out playing cornerback with the Detroit Lions. There is still two Lions’ draft picks who have yet to make their debut in Connor McGovern and Nick Scott, and they will be getting on the field soon. For now, though, let’s check in how the former Lions performed in their rookie debuts on Thursday night.
