Penn State football 2020 target Zuriah Fisher postpones commitment plans
Penn State football 2020 targeted prospect Zuriah Fisher won’t commit this month after all.
When will the Penn State football program land another commitment for the 2020 recruiting class? Well, it’s not clear just yet. Last week, they were fortunate enough to land their 21st prospect in Canadian wide receiver, Malick Meiga after a long drought of not having any action.
This week, they were hoping to gain another potentially, but one of their targets no longer has a commitment announcement on the agenda for Monday. Aliquippa, Pennsylvania three-star defensive end Zuriah Fisher had every intention of announcing his decision this month.
Before, he set the date to August 5th. But now, the Pennsylvania product feels he might’ve jumped the gun on trying to decide this early. That’s not exactly a bad thing — especially for the Nittany Lions. As we know, the Lions were struggling to keep commits on board back in June.
Not one, not two, but four prospects decided to go back on their decisions in a matter of a couple of weeks. Granted, the Lions bounced back after that, but losing multiple four-star commits in a class already filled with three-star prospects was evidently far from the best-case scenario.
Fisher’s decision to not commit this early while not one-hundred percent set on a school was a logical one. With all of the de-commitments this season, and players entering the transfer portal, it clearly shows that players are jumping the gun on their decisions too early. Zuriah Fisher refuses to be one of those committed, but truly undecided players.

According to 247 Sports’ Tyler Donohue, Fisher will not be putting a timetable on his decision process this time around. At least, not for now. With his Senior season approaching, and more visits available to the young prospect, Fisher will hold off on any guarantees.
Currently, the three-star defensive end has 23 offers on the table, according to Rivals.com. While he’s been reported to be on Penn State’s campus at least three times, Fisher has only taken on one official visit to their Big Ten rivals, Michigan State.
Before, Fisher was predicted to land at Pittsburgh back in the Spring, but it seems as though the Panthers have fallen out of favor. Now, the Lions are in the lead when it comes to Fisher’s forecast. They will have to wait and see if that’s indeed the case though.
