Penn State football’s recruiting hot streak could continue on by landing two four-star prospects in Caziah Holmes and Bryce Gowdy.

The month of July has been good to Penn State football. After a shaky start to June last month, they finished strong in the final week and got an excellent start to July with a wave of commitments. The recruiting news cycle has been quiet for the last couple of days regarding new commitments, but soon enough we could be hearing about new prospects picking the Lions.

As we know, some of the more recruited prospects tend to drag out their decisions to ensure they make the right one. But usually, they won’t just make a decision after leaving everybody in the dark. Instead, they will go through each and every school they received an offer from and narrow it down to a smaller selection. Typically, it becomes a top five. Or in this case, a top seven.

Penn State knows this well as they have been linked to a few prospects as of late by landing in their top selections. Recently, the Nittany Lions made the cut for two, four-star prospects. As they look to improve their 2020 recruiting class once again, they could see two significant additions over the next month or so if all goes well in the end.

Caziah Holmes, RB

For some time now, we’ve been keeping our eyes on Florida-based running back, Caziah Holmes. After his official visit last month, Holmes left feeling really good about what transpired. And being that he’s within the Top-200 nationally, Penn State must’ve been feeling really good as well.

On Tuesday, Holmes decided to announce his top seven finally. Two distinct teams who made the cut were Penn State, which was a school he raved about. Then, Florida State, which is a top school in Holmes’ home state that heavily recruited him over time.

The other five schools happen to be the Florida Gators, University of Kentucky, Tennessee, Miami, and Auburn. According to 247 Sports’ crystal ball selection, Penn State still remains in favor even with the top seven announcement. 83-percent of the predictions fall in support of the Lions, while 17-percent remains with the Seminoles. The final selection will be chosen on August 9th.

Bryce Gowdy, WR

Speaking of Florida, another prospect from the state is also considering traveling up to Pennsylvania to continue his football career. This time, it’s a four-star wide receiver, Bryce Gowdy. Ranked as the 56th best wide receiver in the 2020 class, the Deerfield Beach representative garnered 28 offers during his recruitment.

Later on Tuesday night, Gowdy took to Twitter to announce his final five teams on his pursuit to the NCAA. Along with Penn State, Gowdy listed Syracuse, Oregon, Georgia Tech, and West Virginia as his finalists. His decision will come at the end of the month, and he plans to make his announcement on a live local radio show on July 30th.
