On Tuesday, Penn State football defensive tackle Ellison Jordan teased a potential transfer situation. Now, he’s claiming he overreacted.

The Penn State football program knows what it’s like to lose players in the offseason — especially ahead of the 2019 NCAA football season. So far this offseason, the Nittany Lions dealt with a critical transfer, by losing quarterback Tommy Stevens to Mississippi State. Then, they had a falling out with a few of their committed players over the last week.

And just when you think it can’t get any worse, Penn State almost lost another one of their own already to another transfer situation. The keyword here is almost. On Tuesday, Penn State defensive tackle Ellison Jordan teased a potential transfer. The Junior defensive lineman has struggled with injuries since his arrival to Happy Valley, and he eventually has grown disgruntled with the organization over the handling of his situation.

So on a random Tuesday, Jordan decided to take to Twitter to make his big announcement. In a series of now-deleted tweets, Jordan revealed that he is cleared to play football again. But after further explaining the handling of his injury in a long and detailed screenshotted note, Jordan said he would be playing again, “but it won’t be at Penn State.”

Jordan then followed up his initial tweet with a live stream video further explaining himself. After all of that, Jordan deleted both, the initial tweet with the detailed note along with the video. And it wouldn’t be long until he tweeted out that he wasn’t transferring. It turns out that Jordan was just frustrated and tweeting in the moment.

“Let’s things be clear I didn’t OFFICIALLY transfer. I repeat I didn’t OFFICIALLY transfer. And I am not transferring from Penn St. Was just a little frustrated,” Jordan tweeted not too long after his initial statements regarding the situation. So it looks like the Nittany Lions won’t lose another player this offseason after all… At least, we think they won’t.

At this point, it’s unclear if Jordan will actually return to play for the Nittany Lions next season or not. The Penn State athletic department confirmed that Jordan is not transferring, nor did he attempt to right now. Emotions seem to have gotten the best of the Junior defensive tackle.

Next. PSU currently in favor of landing Caziah Holmes. dark
