In search of a 2020 running back commitment, the Penn State football program would be pleased to hear that there are predictions of Caziah Holmes landing in Happy Valley next year.

The Penn State football 2020 recruiting class took a bit of a hit over the last week. Going from a Top-15 recruiting class based off of commitments, to the 25th ranked recruiting class is less than ideal. No thanks to the few decommitments over the last week or so, Penn State really took a hit to their progress for incoming players for next season.

Just because they took a few significant losses doesn’t mean they won’t bounce back though. Sure, they are down three, four-star recruits — but many would be happy to hear that another four-star recruit is beginning to warm up to the idea of joining the Nittany Lions in 2020.

Cocoa, Florida prospect Caziah Holmes recently took a trip up North to work out for Penn State. This past weekend was his first and only time in Happy Valley so far, marked as an official visit. Although Holmes’ primary position at Cocoa High School is running back, it is necessary to note that he’s listed as an athlete on all recruiting platforms. So he doesn’t have a definitive position right now, but we’re currently under the impression that he will be an all-purpose back.

Regardless of where he intends on playing in the NCAA position-wise, this is definitely a player the Nittany Lions do not want to miss out on. As his college tour of official visits launched this month, Holmes has a few notable options.

A couple of weeks ago, he took on his first official visit to Kentucky. Then, he joined Coach Franklin and Coach Seider in Happy Valley. Next week, he’s set to check out Tennesee. While that’s all that is on the agenda right now, we’re under the assumption that at some point, Holmes will take a trip up to Tallahassee to check out Florida State officially as well.

The news following Holmes’ visit at Penn State was positive. Apparently, Holmes is quite fond of the program. And considering the recent success of Lions’ running backs at the next level, there should be a lot more interest in Happy Valley becoming a solid landing spot for running backs. Right now, Holmes has yet to make a decision, but the early predictions seem to be in favor of the Nittany Lions after what sounded like a productive visit.

As of Tuesday, 247 Sports updated their crystal ball predictions, that moves in favor of Penn State. According to the source, they are predicting there is a 67-percent chance that Holmes lands with the Nittany Lions. The other 33-percent? That goes to Florida State. Early predictions led many to believe that Holmes would be staying in Florida for college, but his visit to Penn State surely changed those chances rather quickly.
