Two 2021 quarterbacks, Jake Rubley and Caleb Williams recently visited Happy Valley. One of which, ends up leaving with an offer.

Another weekend calls for another pack of visitors in Happy Valley. Last week hasn’t been the easiest phase of the offseason for the Penn State football program. By now, you’re probably well aware of the fact that they lost not one, not two, but three recruits who have previously committed in a matter of a few days. It surely wasn’t a good look for those players who are coming to visit this weekend — but that hasn’t necessarily slowed down the pack.

This weekend, Penn State had a handful of official and unofficial visits. One of which, happened to be a quarterback for the 2021 recruiting class. Caleb Williams of Washington D.C. arrived back on campus on Friday for his second visit to Happy Valley. As he’s expected to be a four-star caliber quarterback, Williams is currently recognized as the second-best dual-threat in the nation right behind Texas Longhorns’ commit, Preston Stone.

With 20 offers on the table, Penn State should like their odds of landing Williams in the long run. Obviously, nobody is banking on it this quickly though. Being that he’s got another years worth of recruiting he can do, a lot can change. So far though, Williams has now been to Penn State on more than one occasion. No other school has hosted him twice so far.

Williams wasn’t the only quarterback around recently either. Last week, the Nittany Lions had Jake Rubley partake in drills during their eventful weekend of camps. Rubley, a 2021 Pro-Style quarterback currently has 16 offers, one of which he gained last week when Penn State surprised him with an offer. Although Rubley figured the Nittany Lions would be interested, he was shocked to find out he was getting an offer from them right off the bat.

Rubley might not be graded out as well as Williams right now, but Penn State is gunning for a top-ten Pro-Style quarterback in him. The six-foot-three-inch quarterback was getting tons of attention last week while he was running drills on campus.

As the number player coming out of his state of Colorado, Rubley is likely to gain more offers and attention as time goes on. But as the offers pile up for him, Penn State is going to make sure he feels wanted, and they will most likely continue to load him up with more visits within the next year or so. The addition of Rubley’s offer now makes six Pro-Style quarterbacks with offers out from Penn State’s 2021 class. Williams is just one of two Dual-Threats in that department.
