National Signing Day 2019 is here!

Christmas in February, otherwise known as National Signing Day for college football, is finally here. Of course, the new early signing period that was installed last season does take away from some of the excitement, but there will still be plenty of action to follow.

Penn State head coach James Franklin has continued to show his talent as a recruiter during his time with the Nittany Lions. Known for his recruiting before coming to Happy Valley, Franklin has brought in some of the best available players over the past few years.

This year’s new crop of Nittany Lions is no different. Top recruits Noah Cain, Lance Dixon, Brandon Smith, and Adisa Isaac, who are all signed, will once again ensure that Penn State has a solid class.

Currently, 247Sports has the Nittany Lions ranked No. 10 in the nation and second in the Big Ten Conference.

Most of Franklin’s recruiting targets for 2019 took full advantage of the early signing period, as 19 recruits signed in December. 11 of those players enrolled at the school in January in order to get an early jump on their careers.

The only unsigned commitments for Penn State are Smith Vilbert, Joseph Darkwa, and Daequan Hardy. Vilbert committed in January, while Darkwa committed on February 1. Hardy didn’t receive his Penn State offer until Tuesday, and he then committed to the Nittany Lions that evening.

Of course, there are some big remaining targets to keep an eye on, as Penn State could add even more talent to its class. The biggest name to watch will be the decision of defensive back Nick Cross. Another interesting name to keep and eye on is wide receiver T.J. Jones, who has the Nittany Lions in his mix.

There is still some uncertainty surrounding a few targets for the Nittany Lions, so be sure to follow  us all day and check out the profiles below of all of Penn State’s commitments.
