Linebackers

It was always going to be an uphill battle for the linebackers this season, as there’s nearly no depth, and minimal experience at the position. The linebackers put nearly no pressure on the quarterback, and couldn’t stop the run once again in this game.

The 209 rushing yards allow is also the linebackers fault in addition to the defensive line. The one bright spot for the linebackers was true freshman Micah Parsons, who led the team in tackles with seven. Jan Johnson and Cam Brown each had five tackles. Brown also had a pass defended and a QB hurry.

Senior Koa Farmer, who’s started all season, only played two series in this game, and had only one tackle. It’s been pretty clear all season that Micah Parsons was the better player, and now the coaching staff seems to be rewarding him for his play. It’s certainly been a year to forget for the linebackers.
