Get caught up on the latest Penn State football information for Saturday’s game.
We’ll all be looking forward to the action on the field Saturday at noon, as the Wisconsin Badgers come to Beaver Stadium to the face the Nittany Lions. Outside of the play between the lines, there are some other story lines worth noting for Penn State fans.
Players set to wear THON decals on their helmets
- Supporting pediatric cancer care is a cause that is very close to former Nittany Lion Devon Still. His daughter Leah was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma stage 4 cancer in 2014. Devon took a break from football during this trying time to be there to support his daughter. Still would spend nights at the hospital with Leah, sharing a bed. He was recovering from a back surgery during the time. Both Penn State and the NFL rallied around Still as Leah battled cancer. Devon and Leah received the Jimmy V Award for raising awareness and standing up to cancer. In November of 2015, Still made an announcement that his daughter’s cancer was in remission, and in January 2016, Still said Leah had “really beat cancer.”
- The university has made a decision to close off most of the available grass parking due to heavy rainfall. Fans who have parking passes, and those who do not, will have to find off-site parking and shuttle their way over to Beaver Stadium. Here’s a list of available lots:
- ORV
- Pink Lots
- A portion of the reserved Green Lots
- Those not listed (including Yellow) are closed off. If you have a Stadium North Green Lot Pass (spots 1-399), you will need to start planning to find another spot on game day. The university recommends that fans park downtown, or at Grange Park. For full details, see a press release here.
Kickoff is set for noon. According to weather.com, Saturday will be partly cloudy and have a high of 37 degree, with a 10 percent chance of precipitation.
