Running Backs

Thanks to Miles Sanders, the running back position has been the most consistent out of any of them this season. Sanders has been fantastic in every game except for the Ohio State game, and is well on his way to following Saquon Barkley to the NFL.

On only 15 carries, Sanders had 72 rushing yards and a touchdown. In addition, he flashed his versatility by catching six passes for 54 yards. There’s no doubt in my mind that in such a windy game, Miles Sanders should have had the ball in his hands more, but he definitely made this most of his opportunities.

The only other running back to touch the ball all game on offense was Journey Brown, who had a carry for five yards. On special teams, fourth-string running back Johnathan Thomas had a 94-yard kickoff return, stepping out of bounds at the five-yard line while trying to get to the end zone.

If there’s one position that’s rock solid right now for Penn State, it’s running back.
