Penn State heads into their bye week at just the right time. After suffering a devastating fourth quarter meltdown, the Lions are left to wonder “what if”. However, they can’t sulk too long because the second half of their schedule is much more daunting than the first half.

The Nittany Lions have seven games remaining, three against teams currently ranked in the top-25 of both major polls. How the Lions rebound next week against Michigan State will be a tell-tale sign for me. At this point, I’m gonna assume they play with the heart and determination of a team that hasn’t accepted a pre-determined fate.

I can’t help but think that early November contest at Michigan, after the Wolverines bye, will be another close defeat. With that being said, I’ll take the Lions going 6-1 in the second half and 10-2 overall.
