Secondary

It was certainly a weird game for the secondary, 157 of the 270 Ohio State passing yards were on screens. Yes, the fault of not being able to tackle after a screen pass can fall on the secondary, but to think positively, they didn’t really get beat downfield at all.

That’s an extremely frustrating thing because on a night where Ohio State should have had below 170 passing yards, they were able to get 270 because of poor defense against the screens. Safety Garrett Taylor had his first career interception  in addition to four tackles.

Corners Tariq Castro-Fields and John Reid each had a pass defended. They combined for seven tackles. Corner Amani Oruwariye had four tackles. Safety Nick Scott had five tackles.
