Early in his career, Michael Robinson moved around a lot as a member of the Penn State football program, splitting time between running back, wide receiver and even quarterback. However, it was his prowess under center that lands him in our top-30 Penn State football players of all-time, as he was as dominant as they come during the 2005 season.

Robinson led the Nittany Lions to a Big Ten title in his final year on campus, earning the Most Valuable Player Award in the Big Ten Championship Game. A Maxwell and Davey O’Brien Award finalist that season, Robinson ended his career in style. He led Penn State to a triple-overtime victory against Florida State in the Orange Bowl.

The Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year in 2005, Robinson was rightfully named captain prior to the season, and put together one of the more memorable seasons in school history. For his efforts, the San Francisco 49ers drafted Robinson in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft, although he would into the backfield during his time at the next level.

In the NFL, Robinson was named to the Pro Bowl once (2011), and won a Super Bowl as a member of the Seattle Seahawks in 2013. Robinson was such an exciting player to watch as a member of the Nittany Lions, and is still involved in football to this day, as he is currently works for the NFL Network.
