Coaching

James Franklin, along with coordinators Ricky Rahne and Brent Pry coached great games. Obviously when you have the most offensive yards since 1995, you’re doing something right, so congratulations to Ricky Rahne and the offense on that.

Brent Pry’s game plan to contain Auburn transfer Woody Barrett at quarterback worked extremely well. The call that stuck out the most by the coaching staff was when James Franklin elected to have Kent State re-kick when they kicked the ball out-of-bounds. The gutsy called turned out to work, as K.J Hamler returned the ball to the opposing team’s 40-yard line.

The coaching staff now has the tough job of getting the team prepared to play an away game on short rest, so we’ll see how the Nittany Lions come out next week in Illinois.
