Secondary

The secondary only gave up 180 yards, which is pretty good, but not great for a team like Kent State. They also allowed a terrible passing touchdown of 47 yards where the defender caught the ball over Amani Oruwariye on a free play where Penn State jumped offsides.

Sophomore safety Jonathan Sutherland was tied for second on the team with five tackles, including one for a loss of yards. The other safeties, Lamont Wade, Nick Scott, Garrett Taylor and Ayron Monroe combined for 13 tackles. Wade also had two tackles for loss, including one sack

Corners Tariq Castro-Fields and Amani Oruwariye combined for five tackles. Castro-Fields also had one tackle for loss. Starting cornerback John Reid missed his second straight game due to injury.

While the secondary was solid overall, hopefully they can begin to manufacture some more turnovers in conference play.
