Penn State steamrolled in-state enemy Pitt at Heinz Field on Saturday night, 51-6, to move to 2-0 on the season.

Penn State vsersus Pitt is always a highly anticipated matchup due to its years of history, but this game last Saturday night seemed to have a bit more meaning too it. The Nittany Lions were coming off a week one scare vs. Appalachian State, while Pitt was coming off a 33-7 win vs. Albany.

With the game at Heinz Field and a Penn State team that had struggled the week before, the Pitt Panthers and their fans seemed to think that they had a good chance to win this game. They weren’t the only ones. College football analysts David Pollack and Desmond Howard picked Pitt to win the game, and many others around the nation thought Penn State was on upset alert.

“Not so fast,” as ESPN’s Lee Corso would say. James Franklin and Penn State demolished Pat Narduzzi and Pitt on Saturday night in one of the most dominant wins I’ve seen the Nittany Lions have since Akron (ironic right?).

This game resulted in the Nittany Lions moving up two spots in the AP Poll, from No.13 to No. 11, with Kent State up next on the schedule.
