Penn State at Pittsburgh 2018: Prediction Roundtable
Joe Ciminera, Contributor
Ah, Pitt week.
As expected, Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi is stirring the pot, already complaining about calls Penn State will get in the future. I don’t know about you, but this is not the move of a man confident in his teams ability.
Sure, Pitt is better this season than they were last year, and that begins and ends with the quarterback. The Max Brown transfer experiment did not work out exactly as planned last season, but this years starter, Kenny Pickett, is similar to Nathan Peterman who was at the helm when Pitt beat Penn State two years ago at Heinz Field.
He can manage the game and avoid making mistakes. That will go a long way, especially if he can get the ball to Pitts playmakers on offense.
Yes, Pitt did best Penn State at Heinz Field, but that was two years ago and Trace McSorley is much improved since then. Miles Sanders is back home and will look to put on a show for his friends and family, and the Penn State defense will have a chip on their shoulder after giving up 28 fourth quarter points last week.
