Will Penn State start the 2018 season with a win?

Can you believe it? The time is finally here. Come Saturday, the Penn State Nittany Lions will be back on the beautiful green grass of Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions are coming off of back-to-back 11-win seasons and will look for even more success in 2018.

To say expectations are high for Penn State this year would be an understatement. Senior quarterback Trace McSorley may very well be called the best quarterback in the nation by season’s end. He’ll lead an offense that should once again be very potent.

Despite the glaring loss of running back Saquon Barkley, the Nittany Lions have alot of talent not he depth chart to still be very dangerous on offense.

When it comes to defense, the Nittany Lions will have to make up for the loss of some very important starters from last season, including the entire secondary. Fortunately, cornerback John Reid is back from injury. Also, guys like Shareef Miller and Koa Farmer will be around to lead the youngsters on defense.

A lot can happen in Week 1, especially against an opponent like Appalachian State. The Mountaineers will have hopes of repeating the magic of their miraculous upset over Michigan in 2007.

Will the upset of the year take place, or will Penn State start its road to a spot in the College Football Playoff with an easy victory? Check out what the VBR staff thinks will transpire Saturday.
