Mark your calendars to check out Penn State football during the 2018 season.

As the start of the 2018 college football season nears, kickoff times for Penn State football will start to be announced. Times for four of Penn State’s games in 2018 were released Thursday.

Previously, it was announced that the Nittany Lions would battle the Pitt Panthers on September  8 at 8:00 p.m. in the Keystone Classic. The game will be at Heinz Field and will air live on ABC.

Penn State opens the season September 1 at home against Appalachian State from the Sun Belt Conference. That game will kick at 3:30 p.m. and air on the Big Ten Network. Penn State has never faced Appalachian State, but did square off with a fellow Sun Belt member, Georgia State, last season.

Following the trip to Pittsburgh September 8, the Nittany Lions return to Beaver Stadium on September 15 to face the Kent State Golden Flashes. A noon kickoff is set and FS1 will have the live game coverage.  The Nittany Lions are 5-0 all-time against the Golden Flashes and rolled to a 33-13 win the last time the two schools met in 2016.

Friday, September 21 will bring a unique experience for the Nittany Lions, as they will travel to Illinois to take on the Fighting Illini in a Friday evening Big Ten game. FS1 will have the live coverage and the game will kick at 9:00 p.m. Penn State is 18-5 overall against Illinois and won the last meeting in 2015.

The only other Penn State time that’s been released so far is for the Homecoming battle with Michigan State on October 13. Although not finalized, that game will start at either 3:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. The television details will be announced at a later date.

Penn State will be looking for revenge on the Spartans after being upset on the road last year. In a game that featured a weather delay that was over three hours long, the Nittany Lions lost the lead and ultimately fell short, 27-24.
