For the second straight year, the Penn State Nittany Lions are in a New Year’s Six bowl game. Just like last season, Penn State failed to make it into the College Football Playoff. Much like last year in the Rose Bowl, the Nittany Lions head out west to play in Fiesta Bowl.

Last year, Penn State faced off against one of the hottest teams in the country, USC. This year doesn’t quite have the luster as last year’s Rose Bowl as the Nittany Lions are squaring off against the Washington Huskies. Washington was the team that edged out Penn State for the fourth spot in last year’s final playoff rankings.

Penn State – 42

Washington – 17
