Big Ten Conference Bowl Games: Prediction roundtable
New Era Pinstripe Bowl
Iowa vs Boston College
December 27, 2017 5:15 p.m. ET
Yankee Stadium – Bronx, New York
The Big Ten bowl season kicks off two days after Christmas with the New Era Pinstripe bowl in Yankee Stadium. This year’s version once again features the traditional Big Ten – ACC matchup. The 7-5 Iowa Hawkeyes will go up against the 7-5 Boston College Eagles.
Iowa dealt with inconsistency this year, but pulled off one of the biggest upsets this season with a stunning 55-24 home win over Ohio State. Unfortunately, the Hawkeyes stumbled down the stretch and lost two of their final three games.
The Hawkeyes struggled on offense for much of the year, but ended the regular season 20th on defense in points allowed.
Boston College played a tough schedule this year that resulted in losses to Notre Dame, Clemson, and NC State. The Eagles did get a three-point signature win over Louisville.
The Eagles will rely on running the ball with 1,400-yard rusher A.J. Dillion in order to be successful against the Hawkeyes.
See how the VBR staff thinks things will go in the Pinstripe Bowl.
