The Big Ten Conference has some very interesting matchups during the upcoming bowl season.

Although the Big Ten Conference was left out of the College Football Playoff, the conference will be well-represented in some big bowl games. Ohio State had the best chance to make the top four, but the Buckeyes were ultimately left out over Alabama in the end.

Three teams in the conference, Ohio State (5), Wisconsin (6), and Penn State (9), finished the year ranked inside of the top 10 in the final regular season College Football Playoff rankings. All three teams qualified for a New Year’s Six bowl. Penn State will face Washington in the Fiesta Bowl, Ohio State will take on USC in the Cotton Bowl, and Wisconsin will go against Miami in the Orange Bowl.

Eight Big Ten teams overall qualified for the postseason this year. That number is down from 10 a year ago.

For this prediction piece we will not be including the Fiesta Bowl. Look for our staff picks on the Fiesta Bowl to be posted on December 29.
