Quarterbacks

Trace McSorley rounded out a solid junior regular season with zero turnovers, 270-plus total yards and three total touchdowns. He compiled most of that in three quarters and ended with a third straight effective night.

After such a rocky start to the year, a strong close out should seal off the Tommy Stevens talk. A lot of fans called for Stevens early on, but McSorley proved he could run the offense efficiently. I’ve talked a length about his progression as a passer, and he continued that against Maryland.

He ends the season with 3,228 yards, 26 touchdowns against eight interceptions while completing a career high 65.3 percent of his passes. He also improved his rushing numbers recording 431 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Behind him, no one is worried. Stevens is the best backup QB in college football. He rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns, while tossing his third touchdown of the season to Tom Pancoast.
