Penn State football finished out the 2017-2018 with a complete domination of Maryland. The Nittany Lions likely earned another chance at a January bowl.

An angry Penn State football team went on a scorched earth, revenge tour, and it ended at Maryland Saturday with a 66-3 decimation of the Terrapins. Over the course of the final three games, the Nittany Lions lowered the boom on three below average Big Ten teams in a rough way. Penn State football outscored its final three opponents 132-53.

The total domination came after a 7-0, college football playoff-bound season crumbled with two losses. Instead of harping on the two losses, the Nittany Lions embraced their situation and stuck it to everyone else.

Along the way to a second straight double-digit, the entire team ran roughshod over the Big Ten’s bottom tier of the Big Ten. It didn’t take long for both sides of the ball to re-ignite. The offense became balanced again. All this showed up against Maryland. The Terrapins were almost shut out 66-3 on senior day.

Trace McSorley put up big numbers, and the defense held Maryland to just 303 total yards and a lot of that came in garbage time.
