Saturday is Senior Day for the Nittany Lions. The offense, defense, and special teams are littered with senior players that have meant so much to the rise and success of the Penn State program. What better way to cap off their collegiate career than by winning their home finale.

At the beginning of the year, the matchup with Nebraska looked like it could be another tough and rugged contest. The Cornhuskers though have completely fallen off the proverbial cliff. Quarterback Tanner Lee May miss the contest with a concussion, leaving freshman Patrick O’Brien to possibly go under center.

Besides the quarterback issues, Nebraska is also dealing with the looming head coaching change. It seems all but a forgone conclusion that head coach Mike Riley will be relieved of his duties after next week’s season finale against Iowa.

Combine all of the player and coaching  issues plus the complete lack of effort at Minnesota and a team defense that is one of the worst in the Big Ten, and that is a recipe for a big Penn State win.

While Saquon Barkley isn’t a senior, Saturday may as well be a senior day for him. He is highly likely to declare for the NFL Draft next Spring. Look for him to have that huge game we’ve been waiting for. Also, Trace McSorley continues to impress with both his arm and his legs. I won’t be surprised to see him also have a fantastic day.

In all, this has the makings of not only a big Penn State win, but it could also be “over” by halftime. I can see the Cornhuskers sticking around until the Nittany Lions score that first touchdown. After that – they will fade quickly.
