Quarterbacks

Yesterday was the most complete game for Trace McSorley. He did it all and did it at such an efficient rate. He completed 16-of-21 passes for 214 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions, while adding 44 yards and a TD on the ground. Beyond the numbers, he ignited a dying offense.

Barkley couldn’t get traction and the opening kick put Penn State in a hole quickly. But, McSorley got the team on track with his legs. His two 19-plus yard completions and 20-yard rushing touchdown awoke the sleeping giant and the Nittany Lions outscored Rutgers 35-0.

He make precise decisions in short time and avoided defensive pressure throughout the day. Even though the last two weeks didn’t feature stellar performances from the QB spot, McSorley doesn’t stay down for long. He’s been under a microscope all year, but he still manages to fight off the naysayers with improved accuracy and veteran savvy.

For McSorley it’s a A grade when there’s zero turnovers and three total touchdowns.
