Coming out of the bye week, Penn State football has a dream matchup when it relates to one of the best programs in the Big Ten. For one thing, the Nittany Lions proved their top-tier ranking with a drubbing of Northwestern. Trace McSorley got out of his early season struggles and the defense looked impenetrable.

At No. 2 in the country, the hype will only mount with every win. With that said, Penn State looks more than ready for the challenge. The team has yet to play a complete game, but it still dominates every week. This week will be a tighter game, but McSorley and Saquon Barkley will prevail. This defense is stout, but I’d take Penn State’s offense over Michigan’s any day of the week.

On the opposing side, Michigan doesn’t have starting quarterback Wilton Speight again. Johnny O’Korn gets the start and the offense has sputtered with him. He’s essentially won two of his three starts, but he hasn’t looked good in the last two outings. Honestly, the offense didn’t look great with Speight, but it could at least keep the team in games and not give away possessions.

It’ll be a defensive struggle, but in the end, Penn State comes out on top. The Lions’ defense will shut down a struggling Wolverines’ offense and the offense will make just enough plays.
