Week four of high school football season is in the books. So, here is VBR’s weekly look at how Penn State football commits performed over the weekend.

Throughout the 2017 football season I will take a look at how Penn State football commits perform in their high school football games each week. With high school football now in full swing across the country, there is plenty to talk about after this past weekend.

This week we will start right here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Linebacker commit Charlie Katshir‘s offensive performance helped to lead Cumberland Valley to 35-13 victory over Chambersburg and a 4-0 record. Katshir finished with 146 yards of total offense and he scored a pair of touchdowns for the Eagles.

Safety Isheem Young scored a touchdown and had a strong night at safety in Imhotep Charter’s 40-21 victory over Simon Gratz. Nick Tarburton ran 62 yards and two touchdowns, while also recording 12 tackles and a pair of sacks in a 42-35 loss for Pennridge.

Up in District 10, Jesse Luketa and Mercyhurst Prep improved to 5-0 on the season with a 70-0 shellacking Girard. Luketa finished with six tackles and 80 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Cathedral Prep continued to roll with a 69-7 victory over General McLane. Juice Scruggs helped pave the way to over 500 yards of total offense for the Ramblers.

The lone class of 2019 commit – cornerback Keaton Ellis – had another huge game for State High on Friday night. In the Little Lions’ 62-25 victory over Mechanicsburg Ellis had 71 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, he also returned a punt for a touchdown.

Tight end Zack Kuntz and the Camp Hill Lions had a bye this past weekend.

Heading south to the DMV, wide receiver Daniel George had five receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown in Oxon Hill’s 50-8 victory. Defensive tackle PJ Mustipher helped the McDonogh Eagle defense hold Malvern Prep to less than 150 yards of offense and just 9 points in a 27-9 Eagle victory.

Running back Ricky Slade continued his great senior season as he rushed for three more touchdowns in the Hylton Bulldogs’ 58-0 victory. Offensive tackle Nana Asiedu and the North Stafford Wolverines suffered their first defeat of the season. However, Asiedu helped pave the way to 45 Wolverine points and over 400 yards of total offense.

In Florida, cornerback Jordan Miner continued his great senior season. Miner scored all three touchdowns in Wiregrass Ranch’s 20-0 victory. Also in Florida, defensive tackle Judge Culpepper helped the Plant Panthers shutout the Gaither Cowboys in a 28-0 victory. Culpepper recorded seven tackles, while also catching a touchdown pass as a tight end.

Cornerback Trent Gordon had six tackles and a pass breakup in a 24-21 victory for the Manvel Mavericks. Also in the state of Texas, safety Isaiah Humphries helped lead the Sachse Mustangs to a 4-0 record with a 35-7 victory.

Up in New England tight end Pat Freiermuth and the Brooks Football team started their season with a 23-7 loss. Freiermuth finished the game with 42 yards receiving. Quarterback Will Levis and the Xavier Falcons were also defeated as they lost 14-7 against Wilbur Cross. Levis struggled throwing for just 134 yards and an interception.

Finally, in New Jersey, Justin Shorter and South Brunswick lost 28-14 to Piscataway to fall to 201 on the season. The five-star wide receiver had six catches for 85 yards. Defensive end Dorian Hardy had just one tackle as Paramus Catholic lost to Bergen Catholic.
