Coaching

This coaching staff put the offense in position to win. Penn State football didn’t execute to perfection and that happens. However, the guts from this coaching staff to take risks and go big near the end helped pickup the win.

In all honesty this was defensive coordinator Brent Pry’s moment of pride. Penn State football receives a lot of love for its top-tier offense. But this defense held a fairly productive offense in check, so Pry deserves boatloads of credit.

His no-name, nightmare defense doesn’t feature many big names in the national spotlight. But, it’s impressive what he does with this group. It’s tough to keep all these defenders off the ball. The fact that the defense is so deep and can use so many different points of attack makes them  tough to score on.

This week Pry unleashed Miller on the world. Who knows who he’ll release on the college football world next.

Grade: B+
