What a game. Despite Penn State football struggling most of the night, Trace McSorley hit his targets when it mattered most and came up with the win.

Well Penn State football passed its first test even though it took all sixty minutes. That’s all that matters. The defense played about as solid as anyone could have expected, but the offense needs loads of work. It might’ve come up when it mattered most, but that won’t be good enough.

In relation to the negatives, the majority of those 581 yards were empty. Not to rain on the parade, but If Trace McSorley and company play like that against Michigan or Ohio State it won’t be pretty. It’s hard to argue the clutch play of McSorley. Nevertheless, he needs to play a full four quarters.

There shouldn’t be too much worry though. McSorley has loads of great film in comparison to the bad film, so I’d bet on this offense recovering.
