Receivers / Tight Ends

Wondering where the Penn State football receivers were? they’re back. After zero touchdowns in the first two weeks of the season, three different wide outs reached pay dirt in the win. DaeSean Hamilton took a wheel route up the right sideline and beat two defenders to the corner of the end zone for the score.

Brandon Polk got in on the scoring with a post pattern into the end zone. McSorley hit him in the back of the end zone for the 15-yard touchdown. Saeed Blacknall finally got involved in the passing game catching three passes for 64 yards including a 35-yard touchdown pass from Tommy Stevens.

Some of the big name pass catchers such as Mike Gesicki, DeAndre Thompkins and Juwan Johnson didn’t get too many reps. But, they’ve each had big games this year, outside of Thompkins, he’s got a nice special teams game though.

The Penn State football receiving corp played well against Georgia State. It’s the first time the wide out position has produced and gotten into the end zone. Of course, this is also one of the worst teams this group will play all year, so they need to keep building. Still, it’s a step in the right direction.
