Running Backs
It’s not about the rushing yards for Saquon Barkley in this win. He showed off the two in his 1-2 punch catching four passes for 142 yards and a touchdown. Barkley reminded us how quick he is in the open field burning every defensive angle on the way to an 85-yard touchdown reception.
Barkley did do a nice job with the limited carries he got rushing 10 time for 47 yards. The tough sledding won’t be a problem. He received just 10 carries, so he didn’t get a chance to grind the defense down, but it also wasn’t needed.
Miles Sanders and Andre Robinson did get a chance to make some plays. When they came in to relieve him, they each recorded a long touchdown. Sanders showed why next season won’t see a major drop off in the run game.
The Penn State football offensive line couldn’t get much of a push up front, but Sanders was able to bounce the run outside. He eliminated all doubt speeding into the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown.
