Penn State football’s second shutout of the season had it all. From an explosive passing game to a swarming defense, there’s no better way to hit 3-0.

The Nittany Lions expected to be in this position after three weeks. A 56-0 beat down of the Georgia State Panthers fulfilled that expectation. Zero of the non-conference opponents for Penn State football offered much resistance. But, it’s a heck of a way to end the three-game slate shutting out Georgia State and seeing a complete effort from the offense.

Defensively, the Nittany Lions forced five turnovers and allowed just 320 yards of total offense in the team win. Furthermore, all three levels of the defense swarmed to the football to record some big-time production. Three different defensive backs recorded interceptions, while the front seven combined for 11 tackles for loss and two sacks.

On offense, Penn State rolled up a robust 529 total yards on just 52 plays. It looked like the offense operated with zero resistance, and it showed early and often. Next week the Nittany Lions face Iowa, and if they play a complete game like this – it’ll be a blowout again.
