Nebraska head coach Mike Riley’s return to the state of Oregon did not go as he or the Cornhuskers faithful had hoped.  A 42-35 defeat at the hands of a solid Oregon Ducks program has the Cornhuskers staring at a 1-1 overall record heading into their final non-conference showdown with a difficult Northern Illinois squad.

After two games, Nebraska appears to be leaning on the arm of quarterback Tanner Lee.  His 490 passing yards have him fourth among Big Ten leaders.  At Oregon, Lee threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns, but his four interceptions definitely hurt.

Finding a solid running game with the likes of Tre Bryant who peeled off 107 rushing yards at Oregon, and a more solid defense will go a long way to solidifying a relatively young Nebraska football team still with high hopes of winning the Big Ten West this season.
