Indiana comes in this week at No. 11 despite putting together a quality win on the road over the ACC’s Virginia Cavaliers.  The Hoosiers, despite the 1-1 record, have been playing well offensively, but they aren’t opposed to making changes if it helps the team.

Take this weekend for example.  Quarterback Richard Lagow, coming off the school-record 420 passing yards against Ohio State one week ago, started Saturday’s contest a meager 3-of-10 passing including and interception.  So, head coach Tom Allen turned to redshirt freshman Peyton Ramsey in the second quarter.  He went on to complete 16 of 20 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns.  He also rushed for 26-yard touchdown.

In his post-game presser, Coach Allen quickly reiterated that “Richard’s the starting quarterback, but you’ve got to compete.”

The Hoosiers will now have two weeks to prepare for Georgia Southern on Sept 23 because their scheduled game with Florida International this weekend has been cancelled due to complications related to the effects of Hurricane Irma.  Indiana opens Big Ten play on Sept 30 at Penn State.
