Receivers / Tight Ends

Similar to the running backs, this group was a tough grade. When given chances, the Penn State football receiving core made plays, but a lack of production makes it tough to evaluate. They gave McSorley open targets and production with the ball in their hands.

Mike Gesicki led the group with four catches for 39 yards and two touchdowns, while DaeSean Hamilton had a nice bounce back week after dropping two passes in week one. He caught three passes for 45 yards, while Brandon Polk, DeAndre Thompkins and Juwan Johnson combined for three catches for 34 yards.

No one could really stand out too much, but Gesicki provided a fast start that put Pitt out the game quickly. Trace should rebound against Georgia State giving this group a shot at a better game and deeper production.

Grade: B+
