Big Ten Power Rankings Week 2: Ohio State Still On Top But Penn State Closing Gap

No. 7 Iowa (Last Week – 8) ↑1
First-year starter Nathan Stanley did his best impression of the Dos Equis man this past weekend – he doesn’t always throw the ball, but when he does it is for touchdowns! Ok, not quite, but it was sure close. Stanley dropped back to pass a grand total of 15 times all games with a mere eight completions and THREE of them went for touchdowns.
The main story for the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday was the play of their stingy defense. Iowa permitted a grand total of 59 Wyoming Cowboys rushing yards as well as intercepting Heisman Trophy darkhorse candidate Josh Allen twice. In the win, Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell was named Big Ten Defensive player of the Week for his 14 tackles and two sacks against Wyoming.
This week the Hawkeyes travel down the road to meet in-state foe Iowa State. Expect another close affair between these two rival schools.
