Big Ten Power Rankings Week 2: Ohio State Still On Top But Penn State Closing Gap

Congratulations Mike Riley! Your team wins this week’s award for “Team Most Likely to Win Until They Almost Lost”. The Cornhuskers seemingly had the game put away in the fourth quarter thanks to a stifling defense and the offensive skills of quarterback Tanner Lee and running back Tre Bryant. Both players were too much for Arkansas State.
Despite Lee and Bryant’s strong offensive play, it took a last-second stand by the Cornhuskers defense to steal away a 43-36 win.
If Mike Riley wants to find out how good his team is, he won’t have to wait long to find out.
This week Nebraska travels out to Eugene, Oregon to slug it out with Oregon Ducks. Last year’s contest was 35-32 thriller won by Nebraska in Lincoln. This year the Ducks are looking for payback. A Nebraska win could have themselves primed for a 5-0 start heading into early October against Wisconsin and Ohio State.
